Where the Black Unicorn Runs
Everything was silent and still. But that did not mean the clearing was empty.
In the middle stood an animal. Its body was pitch-black, gleaming in the moonlight. Its long mane was tangled, caught with leaves and twigs. Its flank was broad, and it was larger than any horse I had ever seen, with a powerful neck and steady hooves.
But it was not a horse.
Something large is moving through the forests around the suburb where Tilly lives. Could it really be an aggressive elk, as the newspaper claims? Tilly doesn’t really care. She has always found the forest frightening and never goes there anyway.
Then she meets Iselin.
Mysterious Iselin, who is nothing like the others in her class, who seems to know everything about trees and animals. Together, they begin to explore the forest, and it is not long before they realise that whatever is out there is no elk.
It is something else entirely…
Where the Black Unicorn Runs is a fantasy story about hidden worlds and magical portals, about dormant powers awakening, and about deep friendship and great courage.

“The author’s language is wonderfully vivid and descriptive, something I really appreciate. The atmosphere throughout the book is mysterious and magical as well, which I enjoyed enormously. Where the Black Unicorn Runs offered a truly magical reading experience, and it is a book I would absolutely recommend — to both children and adults.”
