Greta Boström writes suspenseful and emotionally resonant stories for young readers. Her debut novel, The Girl in the Cave, was nominated for the 2023 Crimetime Award for Best Children's Suspense Novel.
Drawing on vivid memories of her own childhood—the beauty, the chaos, the intensity, and the fear—she writes stories that capture the emotional truth of growing up. That early fear of darkness, ghosts, and disasters has become a creative resource in her storytelling.
Greta holds a law degree and a master’s in creative writing. She lives just outside Stockholm with her husband, three children, and a dog.
The Girl in the Cave
A story about friendship and betrayal, growing up, and the quiet fear of not being enough. Set at a summer riding camp, it follows Alma, who hears a ghost story about a girl who died the day she was born – without realising that something has already begun. As strange events unfold, the boundaries between memory, fear, and reality begin to dissolve.
Gripping and atmospheric, this novel weaves emotional depth with psychological suspense. With vivid, authentic characters, it captures the raw intensity of early adolescence: the shifting dynamics of friendship, the sting of exclusion, and the search for identity and belonging.
