Anna Winther, born in 1969 in Stockholm, spent every summer of her childhood in the Swedish archipelago, enjoying life on a boat and exploring beneath the water’s surface. With an early ambition to become an actress, she took part in amateur theatre and auditioned for the role of Madicken in Astrid Lindgren's beloved series.
At fifteen, Anna moved with her family to Thailand, where she completed her high school education at the International School of Bangkok. After returning to Sweden, she studied economics and marketing, graduating as a business economist in 1993. Following a period working in advertising, she joined the international oil company Nynas Petroleum, a role that involved extensive global travel and immersed her in diverse, multicultural environments.
Anna married her Danish husband in 2006, and together they have two sons and a Jack Russell terrier. Since 2020, the family has spent their winters in southern Spain.
