Love Island
Sandra lives alone in her ex-boyfriend's mother's flat in the heart of central Stockholm. At the advertising agency, she's bossed around by her moody manager and the agency's most difficult client. When an emergency water leak forces her to move into her grandmother's run-down guest house, life feels hopeless. But perhaps a few weeks on an island in the archipelago, with infrequent ferry connections and unreliable internet, is exactly what she needs.
Markus has just finished dealing with all the practical matters following his mother's untimely passing. The secret of who his father is was taken to the grave with her. Alone, he plans to restart his life in northern Sweden near his closest friend and his family. But before the move, he takes on one last job as a carpenter on an island in the archipelago, a job that turns out to have more meaning than he expected.
Love Island is a warm and touching story about how a complicated path, filled with doubts and misunderstandings, can still lead to deep love, as long as you're brave enough and willing to take the journey.

Reader reviews:
"What a page-turner! A real little archipelago gem that will give you warm and cosy feelings all over your body."
"This is a warm, heart-warming story that truly sparkles! With cosy characters and a lovely island setting contrasted against a chaotic city life, it’s so nice to experience both worlds, but above all, it’s so relaxing when we’re on the island. I feel calm just reading about it."
"What a debut! Anna writes in the conclusion: 'I hope you were moved and entertained,' and yes, I was both."
"I really like Winther’s style; she makes it so easy to sink into the pages and forget about reality."
"A warm and lovely book. Beautiful descriptions of both the setting and characters. I really like the portrayal of Sandra and her grandmother's relationship."
"Love Island is truly as cosy as it looks, and I was hooked straight away. There’s something special about the archipelago setting; it’s perfect for a feel-good story and gives you that lovely, homely feeling. This is a debut that deserves all the praise, hats off to Anna Winther!"
"This is a light-hearted feel-good treat that I read in one sitting. I just had to know what would happen to Sandra and Markus. And I love the love and care between Sandra and her grandmother Gunilla. And the little dog is wonderful. I can't wait for the next part to read."
