Reader reviews:
"Short, yet so full of content! I'm excited for the upcoming series set in the same world."
"More lesbian Swedish fantasy, please!"
"The Countess is a short prequel about love, revenge, and mythical creatures. From the very first page, the reader is thrown into the story.
The plot is both thrilling and intriguing. The world of vampires is hidden in the shadows, with nothing more than a horror story for children. Their world is inclusive and has great potential to expand even further.
Argus has a talent for making characters feel so natural and believable, even though they are vampires from a completely different time than our own.
My curiosity about what happens next, and the author's upcoming series, is huge. I would have happily read it all at once! I’m looking forward to continuing to read and follow Signe and Beata in the future.
‘The Countess’ is a little gem you don’t want to miss if vampires are your cup of tea. I highly recommend it! The content is as good as it is beautifully presented.
I want more! Much more!"
"Short (I want more), but at the same time full of content and so much happened, I really enjoyed this!! I’d love more of it, so I’m happy the upcoming series is set in the same world – I’m looking forward to it!"
"Oh, how I wish this beautifully packaged book had lasted just a little longer. I like Countess Signe and her vampire world, and I would have loved to keep reading a bit more. I find it exciting to follow Signe’s new life as a newly-turned vampire. Even the flashbacks we get, showing what her life was like before becoming a vampire, add that little extra to the story. Her new abilities, as well as her thoughts and emotions, are well-described. I like how both the language and the setting descriptions make me feel like I’ve travelled back in time to 17th century Uppsala. I’ve never read anything by the author before, but I’d definitely do so again. When the continuation comes, I’ll be eager to read it. This delightful novella has everything, and then some."
